🎨 Random Art Dispatch #0: Introduction
Hello, everyone! If you're reading this, thank you so much for clicking and making it here. It means a lot to me. In this brief message, I wanted to quickly introduce myself and let you know what you'll receive if you subscribe to my newsletter. It won't be monthly or have a specific schedule - I'll send it out when I have exciting things and juicy updates to share.
My name is Laura Martín. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and I've lived in Berlin, Germany, since 2020 (yes, during the pandemic). I hold a degree in graphic design from the University of Buenos Aires, and I worked for seven years as an editorial designer in various children's publishers in Argentina. That's why I've always had a connection with illustration. Upon arriving in Berlin, I began shaping my career as a freelance illustrator, and here I am. Beyond my professional involvement, drawing is something I've done all my life, almost without thinking. I often say it's not an extraordinary power by any means. Everyone draws in childhood - the only difference is that I never stopped. I have a deep love for all forms of art, music, reading, and cooking (even though I'm not a kitchen expert, hehe). For over a year now, I've been taking piano lessons, and it brings me immense joy to learn. I enjoy visiting museums, exhibitions, concerts, and cafés, traveling, discovering new places, and absorbing information. And one of my greatest passions is sharing all of this. So, if you subscribe to my newsletter, you can expect to receive:
Updates on my work. Information about books and illustration projects I'm currently working on, along with book release dates.
Insights into my creative process. Sketches, stories. I'll give you a glimpse into my daily life and how I experience the creative processes of my projects.
News about my sketching workshop, Sketching Berlin.
Travel stories. Anything intriguing or exciting related to art and random facts (my personal favorites) when I travel.
The "Random Recommendations" section features something to listen to, watch, read, and maybe a few more interesting tidbits.
I hope to have you on the other side, and you enjoy it! ❤️
